A good QCQ gives you something to bring to the table and offers something worth discussing in class. Earn full credit (1000 points) for a QCQ that touches all 3 bases – and is in on time.

Facebook has consistently played down the app’s negative effects on teens and hasn’t made its research public or available to academics or lawmakers who have asked for it

Comment (250-500 words)

This part of the article’s facebooks response was that they only have seen positive things from Instagram and that it’s supposed to be used to connect with other people and make positive mental health connections. Although that was what the app was designed for and some people still use it that way, the majority of users don’t. Today it’s all about showing people what you have been up to and in most cases getting validation from other people, that they may not necessarily get in real life. Instagram is now being used as a way for people to promote themselves and become known or in other words “famous”. I think that Facebook is trying to use what Instagram was supposed to be used for as a way to get away from the problem at hand and not be responsible for the many issues and receive backlash.

Question

Do you think that now more Instagram influencers or trying to show both sides of reality and fake, to help lower the amount of mental health and body issues?
